Scroops Education Opens AI Voice Conversation Practice to Classes of Up to 100 Students

Marlborough company adds bulk invites, class-wide assignments and privacy-safe completion exports for teachers running spoken rehearsal

Scroops, the AI conversation-practice service at https://www.scroops.com from Archieboy Holdings, LLC of Marlborough, Massachusetts, now offers an Education plan that lets an instructor run live AI voice-conversation practice for up to 100 students in one workspace. The site announced the plan on September 21, 2026. It adds three teacher-facing tools: bulk invites from a pasted roster, a single assignment given to the whole class at once, and a completion export that carries no conversation content. Students talk out loud with an AI that plays the other person in situations such as job interviews, hard conversations, sales meetings, customer complaints and networking. Each rehearsal ends with scoring and a coaching report for the student.

Scroops already offered a Team plan for groups of up to 10 people. The Education plan is the same workspace at a larger size, built for communication, business and career-services courses, which the site describes as "the place students actually say the words out loud." An instructor who starts with a small pilot on the Team plan can move up to Education, and the existing workspace grows to 100 seats rather than a second one being created.

The new tools cover the administrative steps of running practice for a full class. Bulk invites let an instructor paste a roster and invite the whole class at once instead of adding students one at a time. A class-wide assignment lets the instructor choose a rehearsal, add the context that makes it realistic, and give it to every student in a single step, so the class rehearses the same situation. The completion export is a CSV file showing who completed the assignment and each student's overall score, for use in a gradebook. Student transcripts and coaching reports stay private: the instructor sees completion and the overall score, not what the student said.

The practice follows the format Scroops uses for individual learners. A user describes the person they will be talking to, including age range, occupation and what that person cares about, then picks a setting. Each of the nine locations, such as a coffee shop, an office conference room or a video call, comes with ambient audio mixed under the voice, and the site notes that loud venues force a speaker to project. The AI listens, reacts and remembers what the student says, and awkward pauses are not glossed over. Afterward, the session is graded on ten axes drawn from social-psychology research, with a separate rubric for each type of rehearsal; on the home page the examples given are reciprocity, active listening, conversational repair, warmth and boundary awareness. Each score quotes the moment in the transcript that earned it.

The coaching report lists three things the student did well and three to work on, written in the voice of Bo Bennett, PhD, a social psychologist, author and podcast host. The scenario library spans 16 situations in four categories: dating and relationships, hard conversations, work and business, and social and advocacy. Examples relevant to coursework include a hiring-manager interview, a salary negotiation, a conversation with a difficult coworker, a sales meeting in which the student pitches the AI as a buyer, an angry-customer complaint the student handles, and networking at a conference or industry event. According to the site's FAQ, Education accounts have access to the higher-stakes scenarios that otherwise require the Coach plan, and rehearsals of up to 15 minutes.

"Most people only get to practice a hard conversation once, and that's the real one," said Bo Bennett, PhD, social psychologist, Scroops. "A teacher can now give a whole class a safe place to get it wrong first."

For example, a career-services office can have students rehearse a hiring-manager interview or a salary negotiation. A business instructor can assign a sales meeting or a customer complaint and compare overall scores across the class on the same situation. Because each student receives an individual report, every student gets specific feedback without the instructor listening to each rehearsal.

Scroops also publishes guidance for people practicing English speaking online, and the site states that a student who rehearses in another language receives the coaching report in that same language. Users must be 18 or older, so the Education plan is intended for adult settings such as colleges, universities, adult-education programs and workplace training. On privacy, Scroops states that raw audio is streamed through Google's Gemini Live API and is not stored on Scroops servers; only the text transcript is retained, attached to the user's account, and users can download or delete their data from a Privacy Center.

The Education plan costs $299 a month or $2,990 a year for up to 100 seats, and the Team plan costs $99 a month or $990 a year for up to 10 people. For individuals, Scroops offers a free plan with one rehearsal, called a scroop, per month with a five-minute cap, plus Starter at $9 a month, Pro at $19 a month and Coach at $49 a month, with annual billing at ten times the monthly price. A one-time Conversation Prep Pack costs $19 and includes ten rehearsals in 30 days. Instructors can see the Education plan at https://www.scroops.com/teams.
