PickYourVenture Offers 50/50 Partnerships in Which Archieboy Pays to Build, Host and Run Web Businesses

A day later, the Marlborough, Mass., company added a $999 build-for-hire option for people who want to own a website or web app outright

PickYourVenture (https://www.pickyourventure.com), operated by Archieboy Holdings, LLC of Marlborough, Massachusetts, opened a 50/50 business partnership by application on October 10. A partner brings a trusted way in to an organisation or industry. Archieboy designs, builds, hosts and runs the website or app at no cost to the partner. Net revenue from each partnership business is split 50/50, and the partner never owes the company money. On October 11, the company added a second way to work with it: a build-for-hire option at $999 for an approved first version of a website or web app, which the buyer owns outright.

PickYourVenture's view is that the first customer is the hardest one to find, and that plenty of people have a way in but never do anything with it, because building and running a business is a lot of work. A school nurse, a youth-sports league treasurer, a retired HVAC contractor or a dental practice manager may each know a buyer with a problem worth solving and others facing the same problem. The partnership model is built for that situation, and it puts the cost of building, hosting and running the business on Archieboy.

The partnership divides the work in plain terms. The partner supplies introductions to the first buyers, their name and credibility, and a few hours a month for introductions and key meetings. Archieboy supplies the web application, hosting, payments and billing, customer support and maintenance. The company says a focused first version takes days rather than months. PickYourVenture chooses a small number of partners and backs each with the same team that runs more than 50 live websites. The application asks six questions about the applicant's connection, the person who would buy first, the problem, whether there are others like them, any conflicts and how much time they can give. The company says it replies to applications within three business days.

The revenue terms are summarised on the site. Net revenue is split 50/50 after direct costs such as refunds, sales tax, card fees and usage-based services like AI. The build, hosting, maintenance and the team's time are never deducted. Each month the partner receives a statement listing the revenue and every deduction. If a month's costs exceed its revenue, the shortfall carries forward rather than being billed to the partner. There is no application fee, no joining fee and no charge for building or hosting the business. PickYourVenture publishes this as a plain-English summary and notes that the signed partnership agreement governs.

Before anything is built, a first customer commits in writing, for example with a letter of intent, a paid pilot or a deposit. The partner and Archieboy then sign the partnership agreement. Archieboy builds, owns and operates the software, while the partner's relationships remain the partner's own.

The site shows eight case studies of the team's work. Its client project for SOFO, AI VIDEO POST, is a custom video-postcard platform deployed on the client's own server and followed by a separate Website Care agreement. From the Archieboy portfolio, AIHosts.fm is a network of topic-specific podcasts in which an AI host interviews a real human guest in the browser, and DesignDraft.ai uses a property photo and written instructions to create an AI visualisation of a proposed design change.

"Plenty of people have a way in. Most never do anything with it, because building and running a business is a lot of work. That part is ours," said Bo Bennett, Founder, PickYourVenture.

The model grew from Bennett's own start. As a business-school student, he offered imprinted items to his school's Student Affairs director. She knew him, gave him a chance, and then passed his name to her counterparts at other local schools. The product was ordinary; the way in made it work. The company's illustrative examples include a permissions and medication-log portal for school districts, registration, payments and volunteer scheduling for local leagues, a maintenance-agreement and reminder service for small contractors, and a patient recall and reminder tool for independent dental practices. The company states these are examples of the pattern, not partners or customers.

The $999 build-for-hire option is for anyone with a clear idea, including people who do not have a buyer lined up. The buyer receives a written scope before paying, covering features, delivery date and responsibilities, followed by a custom website or web app for one clear purpose, two rounds of revisions within that scope, launch setup and a source-code handoff. The buyer owns the result and keeps all of its revenue, with no revenue share. Hosting, maintenance and support are optional and quoted separately.

The 50/50 partnership is available by application at https://www.pickyourventure.com. Applying does not guarantee acceptance, and a new business has no guaranteed customers or income. Build-for-hire enquiries can be sent through the same site.
