BookToScreen.pro Opens Film Studio Turning Authors' Books Into AI-Made Animated Films in a Hand-Drawn Style

Authors get a free one-minute sample; a whole film is one payment set by the book's length, from $799, approved one part at a time

BookToScreen.pro, a website of Archieboy Holdings, LLC of Marlborough, Massachusetts, has opened a film studio that turns an author's book into an animated film or series in a hand-drawn style. The studio works from novels, memoirs, true stories and books of ideas, and it keeps the author's own words: the narration is the author's sentences, word for word. An author uploads a book for free at https://www.booktoscreen.pro and can ask for a free one-minute animated sample. A whole film is one payment, set by the book's length, from $799, and the author approves the film one part at a time. The drawings, voices and music are made with AI and directed by the author.

Until recently, animating a book took a studio, a team of artists, voice actors and a budget few authors could raise. The BookToScreen.pro studio is aimed at those authors: people with a finished book who want to see it as a film, share it with readers, or show a producer or festival what the story looks like on screen instead of asking them to imagine it. Many people who will never pick up a book will watch an episode on YouTube or a clip on their phone, and a film gives an author something to put in front of them.

Each film is hand-drawn in style, with a voice for every character, mouths that move with the lines, camera moves, sound effects and music. Authors choose one of two looks. The Light-hearted look is an adult-cartoon style with wobbly marker lines, grey pencil backgrounds and people in colour. The Serious look is a graphic-novel style in black ink and grey, with people in flat colour, slow camera moves and quieter music. Authors also choose how the book is told: as a Story, or, for a book of ideas such as self-help, business or philosophy, as an Explainer, in which the author is drawn presenting the book in their own words from a desk, with its examples acted out as short scenes and the key ideas written on screen.

The process starts with an upload, which is free. The studio accepts a book in Word, PDF, EPUB or plain text, from 1,500 words, or a screenplay the author already has. For the free sample, the AI chooses a scene from the first chapter that should film well and makes it the same way every part of a film is made. Afterwards the author can try the sample in another voice from the studio's library or in their own recorded voice, and choose the lettering. There is one free sample per account.

When an author pays to start, the studio writes a screenplay from the whole book in the author's own words. The narration is the author's sentences, quoted dialogue is used exactly, and only the action lines, which describe what is seen on screen, are new. The author reads the screenplay, asks for changes and approves it. The film is then made in parts, usually one per chapter. Before each part is made, the author sees everyone in it and approves the cast. A part usually takes about an hour to build; the author watches it, can change pictures, lines and music in the part editor, and approves it before the next part starts. An author can stop after any part and keep everything made so far. Approved parts join into one HD (1080p) film, released as a feature film, a two-part film, a limited series, a web series of short episodes or a short film, with vertical clips for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels included.

"A free one-minute sample lets an author see their book on screen before paying anything, and approving each part before the next is made keeps the author directing the film," said Bo Bennett, founder, BookToScreen.pro.

Pricing is one payment set by the book's length, with no subscription, and the author sees the price before paying. A book of up to 12,000 words, or a screenplay of about 90 minutes, is $799. A book of up to 110,000 words is $4,499, and longer books are quoted. Because every word of the book is kept, a long book makes a long film. The price covers the screenplay, every part's cast and voices, every part and the finished film, within set allowances that include one remake of each part with the author's notes.

The studio's work can be seen on its Animated Film page. Bennett's own guide to spotting bias and checking sources, How To Sift Through Media Bullsh*t, was made in the studio as an Explainer in his own voice: the whole book as one 39-minute film, now on YouTube. The page also shows short samples from his memoir, A Mostly Magnificent Memoir, in both the Light-hearted and Serious looks.

The studio joins the services BookToScreen.pro already runs for authors pursuing a screen adaptation. Its public, producer-facing book directory is filterable by genre, format and adaptation score, and industry visitors can browse it free without signing up. Listing a book is free; paid plans from $9 a month add an AI pitch package (logline, short and long synopses, format pick, comparable titles and why the book adapts) and an adaptation-readiness score from 0 to 100 with six sub-scores. A separate $199 screenplay service writes a feature-length screenplay or TV pilot to read and send to producers. The site also offers a free first-pass AI evaluation of unsolicited "Hollywood producer" emails, most of which it warns are scams, with unlimited checks and human review on paid plans.

BookToScreen.pro does not promise that a film will get a book picked up by a producer or a streaming service, and it does not promise producer views, options, representation or deals. Authors can upload a book and ask for a free one-minute sample at https://www.booktoscreen.pro.
